Makeup Must Haves! | Face

It can be hard to find the perfect drugstore face makeup to fit your needs, because let's be honest we are always searching for the miracle products- right? Well I think I may have found my go to everyday makeup for the face, which is not only affordable, but leaves a great coverage with a natural finish! I've used these products together for quite a while now so I thought why not tell you all about them...

Loreal Nude Magique Blur Cream - It's all about that base! A primer is a must have for me, to leave a smooth base ready for my foundation to go on top. I don't like my primer to heavy, so when I found this it was simply perfect. It goes on smoothly and has a slight colour pigment to it (I get light to medium) which makes the skin an even tone, whilst filling in your pores, leaving a silky finish and banishes an oily t-zone without being to mattifying (great for me, as I have oily skin and need all the help I can get!) I previously used the Studio Secrets Primer by Loreal which I find great to mattify and keep your foundation lasting all day, but I did find it was just too thick for the daytime, so when I came across this lighter version I was almost jumping for joy, it is perfect and you can even wear it on it's own without any other makeup!

Covergirl Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 - This foundation is just as it states fabulous! It can be quite a heavy, full coverage foundation if you build on it, but for everyday, a little goes a long way and it doesn't feel thick on the skin (I use one pump for my whole face). The foundation is classed as 3 in 1, a foundation, primer and concealer all in one. I have tried using this product on it's own but still prefer a primer underneath as I don't like putting foundation onto bare skin without a base (but it works differently for everyone). I do pick this up when I go to Florida on holiday so I am aware you can't get Covergirl in the UK. However, I feel Max factor's  Facefinity 3 in 1 is extremely similar and this is what I use when my Covergirl runs out, it feels almost identical on the skin. The best thing about this products is that you can use it for either day or night and it lasts for hours, leaving a semi-matte finish, which is great for normal to oily skin types.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch - You've got to love a highlight! Applying a little amount of this concealer around the eye area makes such a huge difference. It is illuminating, meaning it brightens the eyes making you look like you've slept for days (bye bye dark circles, that's what we like to hear!) There is a lot of lovely concealers I've used in the past, but this is my favourite drugstore one I have found so far, it's a product that can make such a difference when you are tired and need a pick me up in the morning!

These products are all part of my everyday makeup routine and I am really happy with them at the moment, you never know some other products may creep up and win me over, but after many months of using these products, I've found no drugstore makeup that compares... so until then these will continue to be my must have makeup products!

What are your must have face products? Anything you would recommend? :)

Maybelline Colour Elixir | Review and Swatches

Lip product review
(Right) 705 Blush Essence (Center) 725 Caramel Infused (Left) 135 Raspberry Rhapsody

I recently came across these new Maybelline Colour Elixir lip products (£6.99) and thought I would pick up a few colours to try and also show you what they look like and my thoughts about them!
Plus it's hard for me to go shopping and not pick up new beauty products that catch my eye.. (you know that feeling...when they just look to pretty not to try!)

Lip product swatches

These are the swatches in the order of the picture above, you apply the product with a wand and as you can see they are VERY glossy. I have to be honest, I was a little disappointed in the colour pigment, they look so bright and bold in the packaging but they definitely don't come out that way, they are much more subtle, but nonetheless very pretty!

 Shade 1 - 705 Blush Essence

Shade 2 - 725 Caramel Infused

Shade 3 - 135 Raspberry Rhapsody

The range has 10 different shades to choose from, the three I chose looked very different from the packaging, but shade 1 and 2, as you can see, look very similar to one another. The products on the lip look extremeley shiny and natural so you can get away with wearing them as an everyday product, which is really nice and just adds a little colour to your chosen look.
The texture is my favourite part, because they look like a gloss I was worried they may feel sticky and uncomfortable on the lip, but they are far from that! It leaves your lips feeling moisturized and has a velvet smooth touch when applied, I was very impressed!

Although I was originally disappointed with the colour pay off, as I thought they would have more of a lipstick effect and be longer lasting, I do really like the product! I have tried them on top of lipsticks or applied a lip liner as a base before applying this product and it looks and feels amazing.  (I would definitely try this technique with these products) With a base, the product lasts much longer and gives a vibrant shiny look to the lip, so you can go from a natural look, to a bolder look for the evening!

Have you tried any of the Maybelline Colour Elixir products? What are your thoughts? :)

Sweet and Spooky | Halloween Cookies

Trick or TREAT?
Enough about the tricks, I am all about the treats! So here's a post on some themed, tasty Halloween cookies since it's just over a week until the night creeps up on you. Spend your night, with family or friends and bake your favourite treats, trust me it's not too difficult and not only do they look cute,  but they taste delicious.

Along with the basic ingredients listed below, I got these fun Halloween extras to make these themed cookies look amazing! Everything above is purchased from Culpitt Cake Club which sells everything you need to decorate anything you wish, along with accessories and cute little extras to add to your chosen theme.

I found the recipe for my Chocolate Chip Cookies on BBC Food but added a few of my own modifications, it was so simple and they turned out perfect!

This was the cookies when they came out of the oven, so soft and smelled amazing (I may have stolen one before the decorating, shh! I couldn't resist) Time for the fun part...

I was really impressed with the result and loved the quality of the icing. The cookie cutters were the cutest little characters including bats, pumpkins, skulls and ghosts! Also can I just mention the little pumpkin bags to put them in, such a great idea for giving them away as treats on the night or taking them to work or school! I found this a lovely finishing touch.
I'm not the most amazing cake decorator but I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome and I had a lot of fun along the way!

I hope you have a Happy Halloween, no matter what you plan to do! :)

Have you got any exciting Halloween recipes you've tried? Let me know!

Disney's Board Walk Bakery - Tasty desserts that not only look amazing, but taste even better! Presentation is on another level in Disney.

Disney pastries
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Find these yummy treats at breakfast time in the food court from pastries to cookies, muffins and more, believe me,  you'll want one as soon as you walk through the door! (My favourite, the Sugar Cookie (top left) and the Pain Au Chocolate (bottom right) yum!

Main street Bakery - Located in the Magic Kingdom Park you find everything you need to satisfy a sweet tooth! Look below to find out more..

From scary sweet goodies to Mickey's signature toffee apples, dipped in M&M's and Reese's pieces!

Karamell- Kuche - Located in Germany in Epcot, find the famous Werther's Originals caramel, melted into many of your favourite deserts, this can only be classed as caramel heaven..

I tried the giant cookie which had Werthers caramel oozing in the middle as well as drizzled over the top, yes I know, it was like a dream..

Wandering Oaks Trading Post - Where you find your Frozen merchandise, don't miss out on the edible Olaf's or Anna and Elsa cupcakes, they may look sweet but they taste even sweeter!

Disney have so many bakeries its hard to keep track of them, but I thought I'd show you a few of my favourite places (yes there was hundreds more, but I had to stop somewhere). They don't only look amazing and themed to perfection (the bakers are super talented!) but they taste even better than how they look, it's honestly almost impossible to walk into one of these places without trying something!
These are only a few of Disney's delights, you won't even believe what other deserts and treats Disney have to offer, the list could go on forever! (that is not even an exaggeration!)

Autumn Is Here!

Since its getting a little bit colder outside I thought I would show you my outfit of the day! Nothing beats a snug jumper with a thick warm scarf, so I thought I'd show you a few pieces of clothing I've picked up lately, all ready for my favourite season...Autumn!

H&M JumperCheck Print ScarfA&E Black Skinny JeansLittle Black Boots,
(Jewelry was from Forever 21, and bag River Island I was unfortunately unable to find the exact pieces but there is a lot very similar to chose from!)

This outfit was a quick put together, to go for a walk along the quayside on a crisp, autumn morning! It is really affordable and super comfy for every day. I feel the statement pieces of Jewelry just add an extra little something, plus a natural makeup look and a quick few waves in the hair make you feel put together, without having to make a huge effort!
I love the fashion for autumn this year with the all checkered patterns and thick jumpers, the great thing is, it doesn't only feel comfy on a cold day but looks cute and colourful! :)

Whats your favourite clothing for those cold days? :)

Castaway Cay | Disney Dream

Ahoy there! I hope you enjoyed the picture overload of Disney's private island Castaway Cay!
We stayed onboard the Disney Dream Cruise Line for 3 nights as part of our florida holiday, after staying 10 days at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I had never been on the cruise before and didn't really know what to expect, although I knew I was in for a treat, Disney never disappoints! But I was honestly blown away, it definitely sticks by it's certainly was a Dream (super cheesy I know! but true).

The ship was on a different scale to anything I had ever seen before, HUGE, immaculate and beautiful! From the look of it, to the facilities, to the food and the entertainment, it was faultless. I have never ate as much and seen as many talented performers in my life!
But alongside all this on board, you also got to visit two Caribbean islands, firstly Nassau, Bahamas and then onto Disney's Castaway Cay and yep, it deserved a post all on its own!

It's hard to describe how amazing it actually was without being there, but I'm hoping these pictures and this small description should shine a little light onto what you can only imagine as...paradise!
The island was beautiful, gorgeous white sands and clear blue sea, with little merchandise shacks selling all your little keepsakes. Of course, lets not forget the characters you come across, all themed in there Caribbean attire! Then going snorkelling in the lagoon, seeing real life Nemo and friends all swimming around you, then hopping on a bike and going for a cycle around the island to check out all the views.

The beauty of it was, yes there was lots to do! but if you just wanted to relax, this was the perfect place to do just that. Half of the day we spent on the adults only beach and chilled out, until we went for our BBQ on the beach (not a normal BBQ that's for sure!) the amount of variety and fresh cooked food made in front of you, by the chefs was unbelievable, then having the option of unlimited ice-creams, freshly baked cookies and more.

I feel so lucky to have had this experience, I felt I had to share it with you! In case you ever fancy a cruise in the Caribbean I would definitely recommend this, it caters for everyone. It has adults only pools and bars so you don't even need to go with children, yes it's Disney and you get to see spectacular fireworks at sea and shows fit for the West End! but even if you don't want all that, the quality and service of your stay is an experience all in itself. (I better stop, I could write a book about this!)

Thank you for reading!

Have you ever been on a cruise? What was your experience? :)

How I Grew My Hair So Long? | FAST

Don't you just hate when your hair reaches that frustrating length, when you feel it won't grow any longer no matter what you do! (I know most of you are probably thinking, yep thats me!) Well this was me as well for years, I had shoulder length hair and no matter how many things I tried nothing ever seemed to work for me! That was until I came across these secret products, that I feel not a lot of people know about (until now) so without no further ado (drumroll please...)

I want to introduce to you FAST, this is a shampoo and conditioner which you will find in Boots for £29.99 (you can also buy on amazon) this is for two large 300ml bottles. It is herbal based and contains vitamins and amino acids, which will help you grow longer stronger hair and it contains no parabens, sulphates or DEA so it isn't harmful for the hair.
I know it does seem pricey, but after continuously spending money on hair extensions I decided to go for it and try it out (I'm so glad I did!) The product states the shampoo and conditioner work together to make your hair grow faster, by up to 99% so if your hair grows 1 inch a month it will grow 2 inches that month. That is exactly what it did for me, in just the first month my hair grew just over 2 inches and people actually commented on the difference! I've also recommended it to friends who have experienced these great benefits too and you can definitely see a difference!

So how  do I use it?

On the box it states that the products are to be used daily but I didn't like this idea as I like to wash my hair every 2-3 days so I'm not removing all of the natural oils. So this is what I did, I washed my hair with the FAST shampoo and conditioner every other day, you may get an even better result using daily but I decided to stick to my hair care routine and it still worked wonders for me!

You don't need a lot of this product and you want it to last a decent amount of time to feel the benefits. I use a small amount in the palm of my hand and massage it into the roots, as you want the product stimulated into the hair follicle in order for it to work. One thing to note, the shampoo doesn't lather as much as I'd like and before putting the conditioner on it feels almost a little dry and heavy but once you massage the conditioner into the roots, the hair begins to feel much softer. I also apply a little bit of my normal conditioner to the ends of the hair, as I feel it needs a little more conditioning in the dry areas.

So after washing my hair every other day for about a month with these products my hair grew 2 inches and I feel it gave it a boost to grow and before long it was past the frustrating shoulder length, which I never thought was going to happen!

I first used these products just over a year ago and I have repurchased them twice since then. One box lasted around 6-8 weeks for me and I used another a few months later just to give it an extra boost, I have never had as many comments on my hair! I get asked if I am wearing extensions and how it grew so long by so many people (now my secret is out!) I now only use this product every once in a while, I've had my third box for a couple of months now and don't feel it is necessary as my hair is the longest it has ever been!

Have you got tips for long, healthy hair? Let me know! (:

The Perfect Plum | Darkside

It's that time of year again, when the darker shades make an appearance and we all start looking for that perfect deep plum lipstick. I was always quite wary to try the deep, darker shades and just stick to what I was comfortable with, but last year I decided to embrace it and now I can't get enough of the plum/berry autumn colours! Since I fell in love with this look, I have searched high and low for the perfect shade for me and one which will last and still look as good as new hours after applying.

Lipstick: MAC - Dark Side
Lip liner: Sleek - Raisin

So when I came across these products and tried them, I knew this was the perfect plum for me and ticked all of the boxes (exactly what I was looking for!).  I apply Sleek's Raisin lip-liner around the lips and then shade in the rest of the lip which helps it last longer. It can be quite difficult applying this product as it is a very dark colour but don't worry, just takes a little time and patience. I then apply MAC's Dark Side all over and can I just say the two work beautifully together, the lipstick is slightly lighter and has a great shine, giving a slight ombre look to the lips.

This plum is dark and daring, trust me it took me a little while to get used to it! But it's the perfect deep colour I have found so far for autumn/winter, both products are amazingly pigmented making it long lasting but not drying on the lips. I feel having a statement lip at this time of year is perfect, it dresses up your look instantly, ready to enjoy all the festivities this time of year has to offer!

I dare you to try...The Dark Side! :)

An Evening At Epcot | Disney World

This night was one of the most memorable nights of my holiday, the sky was so beautiful everyone had their cameras out, getting every chance they could to capture the amazing view of the park.
Here's some of the pictures I took that night, they are to beautiful not to share ...

Via Napoli - We had a lovely meal, situated in the heart of Italy

Epcot is one of my favourite Disney parks, it has some amazing attractions (my favourite being Soarin', unbelievable!) and is fascinating to walk around. You get the chance to see lots of different countries from around the world, from beautifully designed buildings, to shops selling merchandise of that culture and staff who are from each of the countries working there, all adding to the around the world experience. Let's not forgot the Disney characters that spring up as you walk around, from meeting Mulan in China, to Mary Poppins in the United Kingdom, well and truly...magical.

We had already spent the day at Epcot so we just wanted the opportunity to have a nice stroll around at night and see the park lit up, luckily as you can see we chose an amazing night. After watching the sun go down, we found a spot to watch the spectacular fireworks IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth which was as breathtaking as ever, honestly it gets me every time.
It was the perfect end to a perfect evening.

Have you visited Epcot before? I'd love to hear your stories/memories? (:
