Castaway Cay | Disney Dream

Ahoy there! I hope you enjoyed the picture overload of Disney's private island Castaway Cay!
We stayed onboard the Disney Dream Cruise Line for 3 nights as part of our florida holiday, after staying 10 days at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I had never been on the cruise before and didn't really know what to expect, although I knew I was in for a treat, Disney never disappoints! But I was honestly blown away, it definitely sticks by it's name...it certainly was a Dream (super cheesy I know! but true).

The ship was on a different scale to anything I had ever seen before, HUGE, immaculate and beautiful! From the look of it, to the facilities, to the food and the entertainment, it was faultless. I have never ate as much and seen as many talented performers in my life!
But alongside all this on board, you also got to visit two Caribbean islands, firstly Nassau, Bahamas and then onto Disney's Castaway Cay and yep, it deserved a post all on its own!

It's hard to describe how amazing it actually was without being there, but I'm hoping these pictures and this small description should shine a little light onto what you can only imagine as...paradise!
The island was beautiful, gorgeous white sands and clear blue sea, with little merchandise shacks selling all your little keepsakes. Of course, lets not forget the characters you come across, all themed in there Caribbean attire! Then going snorkelling in the lagoon, seeing real life Nemo and friends all swimming around you, then hopping on a bike and going for a cycle around the island to check out all the views.

The beauty of it was, yes there was lots to do! but if you just wanted to relax, this was the perfect place to do just that. Half of the day we spent on the adults only beach and chilled out, until we went for our BBQ on the beach (not a normal BBQ that's for sure!) the amount of variety and fresh cooked food made in front of you, by the chefs was unbelievable, then having the option of unlimited ice-creams, freshly baked cookies and more.

I feel so lucky to have had this experience, I felt I had to share it with you! In case you ever fancy a cruise in the Caribbean I would definitely recommend this, it caters for everyone. It has adults only pools and bars so you don't even need to go with children, yes it's Disney and you get to see spectacular fireworks at sea and shows fit for the West End! but even if you don't want all that, the quality and service of your stay is an experience all in itself. (I better stop, I could write a book about this!)

Thank you for reading!

Have you ever been on a cruise? What was your experience? :)
