Want To Feel Great? Exfoliate!

One thing I love to do on a Sunday is have a pamper day, it gives you a chance to relax and feel all ready and prepared for the week ahead! So I thought I'd show you a few of my favourite products I use to exfoliate, to say goodbye to those pores and give me fresh, smooth skin!

Philosophy - The Microdelivery Peel is one of my favourites if I need a deep exfoliation, I don't use this every week, I switch it up and use it every other. The beauty of this, is it comes with two products, the crystals (in the pot) which you apply first and gently massage over the face, then after 60 seconds you apply a few drops of the activating gel on top. When the two are on the skin together you feel a warm sensation which feels lovely (just like your at a spa), this creates a white foam, you then leave it on for 2 to 3 minutes and rinse off. I can't begin to describe how amazing your skin feels after you use this product, it is unbelievably smooth and even, leaving the skin look so much brighter and healthier. It is lovely for a Sunday pamper product and the result you have after you use it,
is unlike any other exfoliating peel I've tried!

Origins Clear Improvement - charcoal mask is great for those who want to minimize your pores or prefer a mask rather than a scrub. It is really easy to use, you just open the pores with a moist damp towel then apply the product evenly onto the skin, the mask then drys and begins to tighten the skin, then you just rinse off. I love products that get rid of large pores so I was excited to try this product and I am really happy with the results, if I feel I need a good exfoliate I do use the origins modern friction scrub I recently spoke about (click here too find out more) before I use this, it does feel a little uncomfortable when using them together but the results are great and get rid of any dirt in your pores. (I would suggest not using these type of products if you have any events the next day as you may get a friend or two appear which has been hidden under the skin! and we don't want that if there are pictures to be taken!)

No7 Exfoliating Brush & Sponge - I thought I'd mention these products for those of you who want to exfoliate but don't like scrubs or masks! These products you can just use your normal cleanser and still exfoliate the skin by using these along with it and by just washing them after, they are ready to use again and again. The sponge is rough textured, which you use to massage the cleanser into the skin in circular motions and is a very gentle exfoliate. The exfoliating brush I have been really pleased with, I wanted to try something at a good price which is basic rather than going straight for a Clarisonic and this does such a great job! It has two speeds and the head spins in circular motions, giving your skin a great clean and it isn't harsh like some skincare products. I can use a couple of times a week if i need to as it is gentle and gives your skin that extra clean it sometimes needs!

I am sometimes wary of exfoliating products as my skin can react badly to them and is often sensitive to harsh products so I have been really happy with these products and the results I have got after using them. Since they are something I use most Sundays as part of my pamper routine, I thought I'd share them with you!

Have you got any favourite exfoliating products? Let me know!

Hope you are having a lovely Sunday! :)

Pop of Pink | Valentines Day Make-up

The sun's been shining the past few days and it feels like spring is on it's way! So I was super excited to a pretty make-up look and since it's Valentines Day this weekend I thought it might give you some inspiration for a make-up look! I went for pretty pink look, which looks super natural and leaves the skin glowing. This was really enjoyable to do since I've been into the darker colours over winter and I can't wait to start bringing some colour back into my life!

Firstly my Face products I used are over on another post I done recently, I have still been sticking to the same products so not much has changed there, just click 'Face' to check it out! I then used a Stila custom colour blush - pink it is such a lovely shade, it looks unbelievably bright, so from just a glance you could easy think oh no! this is not for me, but the great thing about this blush is that it reacts to the wearers skin and creates the perfect shade for you! I love it, I also have the coral  and that is very pretty for the spring/summer season!

Then for my Eyes I started with Maybelline's Colour Tattoo - 70 Metallic Pomegranate cream eye shadow all over the lid, it is a beautiful pink/burgundy shade and looks really pretty on it's own and because it has a 24hr stay it doesn't move or crease all day! So you could put this on in the morning and it will still be perfect by the evening. I then went in with Two Faced Romatic Eye shadow palette using the light pink shade (Kiss the Bride) in the tear duct and blending it along the lid, then using a touch of the deep purple from the same row, (First Dance) in the crease to create a subtle smokey eye, nothing too dramatic. These eye shadows are perfect for a romantic, pretty look and I'm sure they'll be used a lot through spring and summer! I used my favourite Collection Extreme Liquid Felt Tip Liner to create a slight wing along the eye and of course my other favourite Loreal Telescopic Mascara for long natural looking lashes. You could always then add false lashes, but I just kept it simple as you can use it for both a day or night look.

On the Lips I used Lord & Berry Vintage Rose lip liner, it was much deeper than the lipstick but it gives a nice effect when blending them both together. I used MAC's Pink Plaid lipstick which is a beautiful matte light pink which look's lovely on it's own but for this look I decided on a shimmer glossy lip and used Loreal's Glam Shine Gloss in 201 Loyal Wild Rose which blended everything together and made the finishing colour very pretty, which complimented the eye make-up.

I decided to pair this look with floral as the make-up was fun and girly, which you can wear through the day or in the evening! Then some soft waves in the hair which has become my go to hair style recently, you can find out how I do it over on Big Voluminous Soft Waves! I hope this look gave you some inspiration for any upcoming plans you have or even if you don't and just want to try a new look! This year for Valentine's we are just having a nice night in, cooking a lovely meal and watching DVD's (my favourite kind of night!)

I hope you have a lovely Valentine's this weekend, whether it's spending time with a special someone, or having a night in with your loved ones, friends and family!

Make-up Favourites Under £5!

Shopping for make-up can get pricey and sometimes we just can't afford those high brands all of time and need to look at other brands at an affordable price! That's why I thought I'd do this post showing you some products I love which are all under £5!!! For such amazing price the quality is extremely good value for money and these products I go back for time and time again.

First up Collection - This brand I have been pleasantly surprised with over the past year and I've tried quite a few of there products,  which I've been really happy with! (including there liquid felt tip eyeliner which I've talked about so much I just couldn't add it to this post as well haha!) Firstly pictured is Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19) which is extremely popular and a brilliant concealer! I get number 1,  the lightest so it can be used to highlight the under eyes or cover blemishes, as it has a great coverage which lasts all day! Then you have the Gothic Glam Lipsticks (£2.99) they have 3 colours in this range and I have them all, they are really deep plums and red shades so perfect for autumn and winter, pictured above is 1 - seduction and is actually one of my all time favourite lipsticks which I always go back to, it is a beautiful deep red/plum shade and has a great pigment, it just shows drugstore products can be just as good as high end!

Seventeen - The Miracle Matte Powder (£3.99) is great to wear on it's own for a little coverage and to matte the skin or can be brushed over the top of your foundation, I keep it for everyday use in my makeup bag and is perfect to touch up throughout the day! It is a great drugstore alternative and lasts forever! Seventeen also have great lipsticks and lip glosses you might want to try, a lot of which are bright and colourful for spring and summer or a nice pop of colour to brighten your look!

Rimmel - This is a lovely brand which have some great products for great prices (most just over the £5 mark so I haven't mentioned in this post) but I had to mention there Eyebrow Pencil (£2.99) I know it is super basic but I have used this I'm sure since I started to fill in my brows (and thankfully never looked back since - I swear it looked like I had no eyebrows when I was younger!) I love the shade it comes in,  I get dark brown and it matches perfectly! I normally use a wax and powder but some days I just want a quick fill in and go,  and this comes in super handy! If you need a drugstore alternative or looking for cheaper products to try, check out Rimmel I'm sure you'll find something you love at an affordable price!

Elf - I remember hearing about Elf years ago and checking out the website but never ended up getting anything! But when I was shopping in Florida last year they had a stand at Walmart full of Elf products and I couldn't believe how cheap it was and it was nice to see them in a shop rather than online! So I bought a tonne of stuff and I find some of the products lovely especially for the price! This is the Blush - Twinkle Pink (£3.95) which is a lovely coral shade, it is very powdery and a lot can go on the brush if your not careful but it is a lovely product especially for spring and summer when those coral shades we love come out! I also love the liquid eyeliners and translucent setting powder, check out there website the prices are unbelievable and they have so many products to choose from!

Barry M - When I was planning this post I just had to mention Barry M nail products (£2.99-£3.99) I know the majority of people have tried this brand but I just had to add them to this post, I love the Gelly Hi-Shine range, the one pictured is 348 Plum. The selection of colours are amazing and they are such good quality for a great price!

There are so many great products out there for amazing prices, trust me I could have sat here all day and listed products but sometimes I just need to take it easy and narrow down my favourites, because I wasn't joking when I said I would sit here all day and talk about them! If you spend time looking for dupes or alternative affordable make up it's surprising how they can soon become your favourites!

Do you have a favourite product under £5? Let me hear all about them, it may be another to add to my collection! :)

New January Beauty Purchases!

Whenever I'm shopping and beauty products catch my eye,  sometimes I can't resist the urge and just have to purchase them! These are a few of the products I've bought over the past month and definitely deserve a post, they've quickly crawled into my must have make up products!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - I'm new to this whole naked palette, I've always been to in love with my Too Faced and Stila palettes that I just never thought to get one! That's until I seen this one.. I love natural eye colours but this palette I find different to the usual brown and nudes you normally find! A lot of the lighter colours have a pink undertone and they blend together lovely, especially using the shimmer and matte shades together, they look really pretty. I've used this most days in January and I can't believe I never purchased this sooner.

Real Techniques Bold Metals - As soon as I heard about these brushes coming out, I constantly had my eyes open for them, particularly because of the metallic packaging (they make my dresser look extra pretty!) I picked up the flat contour and pointed crease brushes as these were what I really wanted to add to my brush collection, I NEEDED them all to be honest but I settled with just the two to try first because they are a little on the pricey side. I've got to say they are worth the money, the quality of the brushes are beautiful, I am a huge fan of real techniques brushes but even more so now, I will definitely be adding more of these to my collection, that's for sure!

Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder - As you probably already now, I think I might have mentioned it one...or five times, that I have oily skin and sometimes a girl needs a little mattifying in her life! I'm always after a new powder which I can use to touch up through the day and take away that shine, so I was super happy when I heard about this product (I don't know how I haven't known about this sooner, think I have been living under a rock!). It is just a very light weight translucent powder and takes away all the oils on your skin, leaving you feeling shine free for hours! It also doesn't feel cakey or heavy on the skin which I love, I hate to feel like I'm adding layers to the skin when I apply a powder so I am really pleased I've found this and I've got to address the cute packaging, always a plus!

Hope you enjoyed this little post, I've been really happy with my purchases the last month!

Have you found any product which has quickly became your favourite? :)

Top 5 MAC Lipsticks

One of my favourite make up products I can't get enough of and love to purchase more than anything has got to be lipsticks! So I thought I'd show you my Top 5 MAC lipsticks at the moment, this was a hard decision believe me...

(Put in order from left to right)

1. Myth (Satin) - I have just fell back in love with this lipstick, this was one of the first MAC lipsticks I purchased years ago and I used to love it, but lately I just can't seem to get away with nudes. But I thought I'd try it again and play around with glosses and liners that match and I love it all over again! It is very nude but with a nice nude liner and a deeper gloss over the top it looks lovely on the lip, definitely one for those nude lip lovers out there!

2. Ravishing (Cremesheen) - My favourite coral shade is this one right here! It isn't too bright and has a lovely shimmer finish, leaving the lips feeling nice and moisturised but still very pigmented so lasts nicely. I love this shade in the summer, I can't wait until it gets warmer and the corals come out!

3. Mehr (Matte) - This was a hard one to choose I was torn between three shades, this one, 'Please Me' and 'Pink Plaid' which are all close in colour, beautiful light pink/mauve shades and have a matte finish. I decided on this one as it has been a go to for me these past few months as it is a little deeper than the other colours and is perfect for an autumn/winter look and long lasting! Another look for the winter using a MAC lipstick is over on my Perfect Plum post check it out if you want those deep plum lips!

4. All Fired Up (Matte) - Want a long lasting bright statement lip then this is the one for you! It lasts all day with it being matte and is such a beautiful bright pink, (can look slightly on the red side) I use it all year round especially when I want to do a quick makeup look nice and natural on the eyes but use this on the lips to brighten myself up! It can be dry so I suggest exfoliating and moisturising the lips before applying.

5.  Fresh Moroccan (Frost) - So I tend to have a love/hate relationship with red lipsticks, I can never find a shade to suit me and a few months ago for my 21st Birthday I was looking for a red shade that I could create a classic look with my black dress and that's when I came across this beauty! It is a deep red/brown with gold glitter throughout and it is simply beautiful, it looks lovely especially on a tanned, darker skin (I tend to wear this when I have used my tan out of a bottle!) I am really happy with this lipstick lately, I don't have any shade like it and it is lovely and long lasting.

I hope you liked my top lipstick picks for MAC, hopefully it gives you some inspiration for a look you want to create or a new shade you would like to try! Lipstick searching is my favourite thing to do when make up shopping and you can never have enough - right!?

Do you have a top MAC lipstick? I'd love to hear what you favourite is! :)
