Baby Lips Balm & Blush | Maybelline

Happy Sunday! Hope your having a great weekend - thought I would share with you another little newbie that I have been trying lately, since I was pretty impressed with the original Baby Lips, I thought I would try the new balm and blush which Maybelline have just launched!

I chose the Baby Lips Balm & Blush in Innocent Peach - a lot of the colours seem very bright and I wanted something subtle - especially with it being a balm which you can apply to the cheeks. It is a beautiful light peach shade with a slight shimmer which I thought would be perfect to give a nice glow and highlight!

After trying it on the lips I loved it, more subtle than I expected as it gives more of a sheen than a lot of colour but lovely and moisturising without feeling sticky or thick on the lips. But unfortunately, I just can't get away with using it on the cheeks, having oily skin it doesn't give me really any colour and is way to moisturising and shiny for my skin which I normally try to steer away from!
However, if you have dry skin and aim for a dewy look this will be perfect for you too add to the cheek bones or anywhere you want extra shine to the skin, especially this shade being a light warm peach so it will adapt to most skin tones!

I will definitely continue using this on the lips, I have used it most days since buying it and think it will be perfect and last a long time during the warm months - it will be a great product for the summer!

What are your thoughts on the new Baby Lips!?  :)

Liverpool In Black & White

This weekend I went to Liverpool - I'd never been to Liverpool, so this was exciting! It was just a short trip, mainly to go to see The Corrs and The Shires at the Liverpool Echo Arena which I couldn't wait for,  I grew up listening to The Corrs music and I've really wanted to see The Shires,  so I got both rolled into one! It was also the perfect opportunity to visit some of 'The Beatles'  tourist attractions and shopping - here are some shots of the city...

Mersey River at Albert Dock was lovely to walk around. I loved the locks along the river front - of course I had to put one on - it's a must!

You could stay here all day listening to music from morning until night - I loved it!

The concert was amazing - the vocals were unbelievable I loved the simple staging, it was all about the music you could hear a pin drop in the arena, everyone was just fixed on the songs. It was a brilliant atmosphere I would definitely recommend it - stunning show!

I hope you liked my photos of my little weekend away - I had a lovely time, it's always good to go somewhere new and have something to look forward to! I got some amazing bargains - they had the biggest Forever 21 which I was very excited about!

My next post will be up on Sunday, see you then and have a great week! :)

A Lightweight Flawless Finish | L'Oreal Genius

Happy Sunday! Hope your having a lovely weekend - I've just got back from a lovely time at Liverpool and thought I'd do a little beauty blog post for you all.
Lately I have been trying lots of new products which have came out (I can't resist a new beauty product) so I have a lot of posts planned - to share with you my thoughts and reviews!
Today I thought I'd fill you in on the Loreal True Match Genius foundation which I have been using non stop the last few days to find out how it lasts, the best ways to use it and my real, honest thoughts of the make-up!

This is a 4-in-1 compact foundation which means it is a primer, foundation, concealer and powder all rolled into one! I loved the sound of this, great for an everyday compact foundation for quickness. The packaging is slightly deceiving as the make-up is only in the area you can see which doesn't look like it would last very long! But after using it quite a bit you don't need a lot of the product and I think it definitely will last a while - which I was pleasantly surprised with!

I got the colour Golden Beige which is perfect for me, but being a true match foundation it doesn't have as much of a colour range as the liquid unfortunately, it'll be great if they bring out a larger range for more skin tones. I don't tend to use the sponge as I find the product to sink in and prefer using a stippled brush straight from the compact, you only need a small amount on the brush and it smooths over the full face! The consistency is lovely and creamy - leaving the skin looking smooth and flawless. I would say it was a medium coverage, but definitely build-able without looking thick or feeling heavy on the face.
I have been using this without any other powder or primer and find it works perfectly, it does get a little oily as the day goes on but it is lovely and I think it will be perfect for the summer if you love a creamy foundation without anything feeling too heavy!

I love Loreal products especially the original liquid true match foundation and this is a new one to add to my favourites, it is perfect to carry with you when travelling or for something quick and easy for on the go with a beautiful, flawless finish!

Have you tried it yet? What are your thoughts? :)

Styling Hair With TRESemme | Review

I thought I'd do a little review this Sunday, I've been using lots of different products over the last few months and want to let you know how I feel about them! I recently picked up this new hairspray and dry shampoo by TRESemme when I was looking for new styling products (which is always!) and after using them for a little while now I thought I'd share with you my thoughts and experience when using them...

Runway Collection Max The Volume Hairspray - I've been using this hairspray for quite a few months now since it came out and I have repurchased it a few times since, I was fed up of feeling lots of product on my hair and that crisp feel hairspray can sometimes give after styling. This hairspray is weightless and perfect for holding curls which is what I use it for, It brushes out nicely but the curls last in my hair for up to 2 - 3 days after without having to use any more product.

Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo - This product I'm not as happy with, although it does refresh your hair I do prefer the Batiste range, it feels very cold when you apply and doesn't turn white or feel like there is anything soaking up oils. I personally prefer something I have to massage into the hair and which adds a little texture.

There is a lot of new products out by TRESemme at the minute with the new runway collection which I can't wait to try more of, especially since I love the hairspray so much! They also have a few different dry shampoos so I won't strike them out just yet. I am always looking for next best styling products which last in the hair and do just as they say, so I can't wait to see what else TRESemme has to offer!

What are your favourite hair styling products at the moment? :)

NEW Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara | Review

When I found out that Maybelline had brought out this new push up mascara, I had to give it a try! With it's very different packaging and brush - I was excited to say the least and wanted to try and achieve those lifted, voluminous lashes!

The brush has short rubber bristles which I like and look for in a mascara so this got thumbs up from me right away...

When I first gave it a try I had mixed views, firstly the consistency is quite wet so it is very possible to get it everywhere and make the lashes clumpy! But if you are careful and separate the lashes as you apply,  you definitely achieve a lot of volume! I wore this on New Years Eve before I planned to put lashes on and after a couple of coats - lashes weren't necessary! The dark black makes the eyes look very dramatic and the brush definitely pushes the lashes up!

Aside from the consistency and clumpiness, which can be a problem with this mascara - overall I think it is great! It certainly does what it says on the packaging (which I love!) and it could quite possibly be growing into my favourite mascara for volume!
Sometimes I feel that people look for miracles out of a mascara, your lashes can only get so long and thick from a product and I think this does a great job in making the most out of what you have - I haven't used a Maybelline mascara in a while that I have loved - but this time round I am very impressed and would recommend the next time you are looking for volume and a dramatic look - Maybelline - The Falsies Push Up Drama is the one for you!

Reasons To LOVE A Rainy Day!

So today is my day off and having planned to do something or go somewhere today the weather has got different ideas! It has been raining none stop for two days and sometimes that can make you feel pretty gloomy and miserable, especially now that Christmas is over and everyone is back in routine!

But sitting here and thinking, it gave me a little inspiration to write this post because although it looks miserable there is a lot of good things that come out of this bad weather...

Firstly, you don't have to do anything - on your day off you feel you need to get stuff done, make the most of it and jam pack a million things into one day. But when it's raining you might not have the energy or want to even leave the house and that's OK, maybe those clouds are telling you to take a rest.

Your saving money - this month has got to be the hardest month when it comes to saving or even having money at all, after all the spending that went on in December! If it was a nice day we would probably get dressed run out and hit those shops for the January sales, spending money we don't have! The rain is telling you to stay indoors, relax and recover after all that hard work on the lead up to Christmas.

Do the things you normally don't have time to do! - We all have hobbies or things we enjoy doing, but finding a minute in the day to do them can be difficult. On a rainy day in... catch up on those TV programmes, read, have a pamper, whatever it is that you love! I have even made soup so far today, that's not only something I don't usually do but productive, I now have nice healthy lunches for the week!

You don't need to get dressed or wear make-up - Today I went to the gym, showered then into new pyjamas, I would never do that if it was a nice day, you can have the most comfortable day ever, let your skin breathe and not worry for one second what you look like!

So that's it, the reasons why I love a rainy day, it can get you down when it is dark and rainy but just like they say, think of sunshine on a rainy day! There is definitely a silver lining on days like today :)

Thoughts & Hopes For 2016!

First off I just want to say HAPPY NEW YEAR! We are now in 2016 - which is crazy (let's hope this year slows down a little bit) but really exciting.

There's always something refreshing about entering a new year, it almost feels like a fresh start and clean slate where you can start over! I found 2015 a really good year for me, loads of amazing memories, travelling to New York and Florida and many other little getaways, graduating from University and overall spending good and quality time with the people I love...

I feel really positive and excited going into 2016 and just like this time last year I've made a little list of things I would like to do/achieve this year to make this another brilliant year. Here are a few of the things...

Be Healthy - Of course! This is on most people's lists in the new year, after over indulging over the festive period it leaves you a little off track. So I am really excited to get back to healthy good food and push my fitness even more this year! But aside from the physical health, I hope to be healthy and happy - as well as everyone else around me - that's the main thing to look after ourselves and be around the people that uplift you and make you the best version of yourself!

Travel - This is a really exciting part of this year, in the summer me and James are planning on travelling around America, visiting all the places I've dreamed of going and experience another part of the world I love (having seen a teeny little part of it) so I can't wait to explore more, now it just takes a lot more saving and plan, plan, planning.

Music - This has always been a passion of mine and over the past few years my love for country music has grown into something I couldn't live without. Having started learning guitar last year (which was one ticked off my list) I love everything about playing, singing and writing music more than I ever have. I have always performed and loved music, but now I feel like I can finally learn more, be myself and concentrate on the music that makes me happy and I want to do more of it! I received a new beautiful semi-acoustic guitar for Christmas so I will definitely be putting it to use and creating new and exciting things this new year.

Future - This word has always scared me and after school, sixth form and University it still scares me - the problem is after all the hard work, when do you ever know what you want to spend the rest of your life doing? This year I'm going to stop worrying on specifics and stressing over what I want to do for the rest of my life. There is a lot of things I would love to do as a career and achieve in my life but by focusing on the things I love and I'm passionate about will hopefully lead me to answers and achieving my goals (as cheesy as it sounds). This year I'm going to work hard, look for opportunities and experience - as well as have fun and make the most of everything I do.

But aside from all this - I want to spend each day appreciating what I have, enjoy every moment and keep reminding myself that life is short and we should be grateful for each day we have and the people around us!

We only have one life - let's live it :)
