Botanics | Affordable Skincare

One thing which I love just as much and find just as important as makeup, is skincare
I am a true believer that treating your skin right gives you confidence with and without makeup, but we can't always afford an expensive skincare range, so I thought I'd try something more affordable because who says the price of the item makes it better or higher quality.
Recently I've been using Boots Botanics skincare for a daily face wash and scrub, here are my thoughts...

I have used Botanics in the past, so I thought why not try it again. The products are kind and gentle to the skin and have a full range for dry to oily skin and everything skincare you need at such an affordable price.

I chose to try the everyday 'All Bright Cleansing Foam Wash' for a morning wash, so it is not harsh for the skin, plus the thought of waking up with bright, radiant skin from brightening hibiscus flowers definitely appealed to me. It feels lovely on the skin and is a great everyday wash, but I did feel like I still needed something to deeply clean my skin every so often. So I have also been using the Shine Away Face Scrub' to not only get rid of the dead skin and deeply scrub the pores, but it also states that it mattifies and leaves the skin feeling shine free, which is a bonus I need for my skin. After you use this, your skin doesn't feel oily, I can't say it leaves the skin matte for a long period of time but it is a lovely scrub and certainly does as it says, I use it around three times a week and it leaves you feeling fresh and exfoliated.

For an affordable skincare brand, Botanics is great and I would definitely recommend it for a cheaper alternative or even if you have sensitive skin or want to start a skincare regime but unsure where to begin! I will definitely be trying more of the products especially for oily skin.

Have a great week,

Babyliss Heated Smoothing Brush | Review

Hello!
This week I thought I'd do a review on the Babyliss Heated Smoothing Brush which I've been using a lot lately and let's face it, we all love an honest beauty review before we buy it!

The thought of a straightening brush for me was so exciting, something which is quick and easy to use instead of straightening each section of my hair most days sounded like the exact thing I needed. The thing is, I don't like to have my hair super straight but without using any heat, my hair gets really frizzy, so this Babyliss brush seemed perfect for me - something to smooth and add shine to my hair as well as straighten (is a yes from me!)

It is a paddle brush, which is great as you can use larger sections of hair, but I did still have to section, with having a lot of hair. To use, you just need to grab a section of hair and pull it tight as you run the brush from the root to the end, I have to repeat this a couple of times to get all the waves out of my hair. I was really impressed from the first time I used it, it's a lot quicker than using a straightener and it keeps so much volume, plus you can turn the hair under, letting it sit naturally. As you can see it doesn't leave the hair poker straight, it still looks full and really natural but takes a lot of the frizz out of the hair.

The brush has 3 different heat settings with a maximum of 200 degrees which is great for thicker hair, however it doesn't feel like it is as damaging for the hair as you are just brushing through!
For me this is exactly what I wanted from a straightening brush, I love it for quickness and giving me the look I want after washing my hair and taking away the frizz when I blow or air dry my hair.
However, if you hair is very curly or you love a poker straight look which stays in for days, this probably isn't right for you and your better off sticking to straighteners, as I don't think you will get the finish you want!

Overall a great product, which I would definitely recommend if you want too keep the volume and get frizz free, shiny hair!

Hope you have had a great weekend,

What Sundays Mean To Me!

Hello!
I hope you are having a great weekend, Today I thought I'd write a little post talking about what a Sunday means to me and generally what I get up too, to prepare for the week ahead!

First off, I don't know if this is just me, but when I was younger I used to not like a Sunday at all, the dread I had that the weekend was coming to an end and Monday was getting closer made me not enjoy the day whatsoever! But as I got older my mindset completely changed, Sunday's became my only day off and a day free day to do whatever I like and relax - bliss!

I feel like it is the only day when people take the day to do what they enjoy, are much more laid back and think about what is important. I have also realised the only reason I didn't like a Sunday was because I spent so much time thinking of the week ahead and what I had to do, that I couldn't enjoy the time I had to enjoy and put myself in the right frame of mind to start the week.

Generally this is the only day me and James have off together a lot of the time, so spending quality time with loved ones is the main reason I love this day. Whether it's going for a walk to the beach like we did today, going out, or simply staying at home and having a pyjama day, it's so important to enjoy each day! Sometimes ourselves are definitely the blame for how we think and feel and not live our lives the way we want.

I feel so productive on a Sunday now that I have learned to appreciate it! It has definitely turned into my favourite day and not only do I look forward to it, it makes me feel ready and revived for the week ahead!

Happy Sunday, hope you have had a great day and remember its not only the chance to turn a good or bad week into a better one but the opportunity to start your new week off to a great start!

Here's to a great week,

I'm Back | Blog Thoughts For 2017!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year with your family and friends and really just having a good time! I had a brilliant time and although I was sad for it all to end as always, I am ready for the year ahead, I have goals for myself this year which I can't wait to work towards and see where it all leads me!

That brings me to talk about my blog! As you have probably seen last year I wasn't posting as regular and although I kept saying I'm back, I would then be gone for weeks before another post went up.
So here's why...

At the start of the year I was pretty consistent with blogging I looked forward to planning and trying new products and posting about the little adventures I had
been along the way!
But then I went travelling over the summer and at first I thought I would have time to post little blogs along the way, but little did I know I would be on the go constantly, if I wasn't travelling to the next place, I was experiencing the country, seeing the sights and taking in each moment, trying not to miss a single thing.

Not only did I not have time but this was a time of my life which I had been waiting for, me and James saved for a while to make sure this was possible and I wanted this to be a time in my life where I had no responsibilities, where I could travel to wherever we had planned and do whatever our hearts decided on that day and enjoy every minute because I knew we might not have this opportunity again!

Taking on this mindset and travelling to all these places to begin with was a huge deal for me, because to be honest I am a worrier. The thought of not being organised as to where I'm going and being far away from everyone I loved was a huge deal and very scary for me! But it was the best thing I could of done and by not posting and constantly being able to go on my phone or social media was the best thing for me. It made me realise what is important and made the experience not just amazing to see those places but amazing for changing the way I thought and looked at things!

But it also made me realise and think about what I loved to do and gave me a clear mind on what I wanted in life. This is where blogging comes into it...From the minute I started my blog I LOVED it, my blog is somewhere where I can feel completely comfortable and enjoy talking about the things I love, and share my creative side which I feel can sometimes slip away from me and I don't want that to happen! I came back home in October and straight into full time work so not only was it hard to adjust my life back to normality and I have found it hard to find a good work/life balance!

But in 2017 one thing I know I not only want but need to do for me, is to start blogging again and feeling the passion I had this time last year! It is a great little space to spend time for yourself and talk about whatever your heart desires and no matter if one person reads my posts or one hundred - I am grateful I get to sit here and have a place where I can come, to be myself and do what I enjoy!

From this day forward I am going to start a fresh with my blog, I didn't get to blog about all my travels including Australia but click on the links to my social media where I posted pictures along the way if you are interested - and I will be back very soon with new frequent posts!

I wish you all the best for 2017 and if there is anything at all which your heart desires this year, then go for it, anything is possible...
